Twilight’s Nikki Reed engaged to Paul McDonald of “American Idol”

Looks like Robert Pattinson and the Twilight franchise aren’t the only big news in the wake of the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. Actress Nikki Reed (who plays good vamp Rosalie Hale in the Twilight films) seems to be engaged to Paul McDonald of “American Idol”. The news broke via Marc Malkin of E! Online, who tweeted congratulations to the couple, as well as a twitpic of Reed sporting a conspicuous eternity band.

The pair has seemed inseparable during their short courtship (Reed and McDonald met just months ago, shortly before top 13 finalist McDonald failed to make the cut as a final contender for the show). Subsequent to their meeting, they were seen often in public, and Reed often accompanied McDonald to tapings of episodes of “American Idol”, where McDonald appeared to cheer on his cast mates as they competed for the Season 10 title.
