DELHI BELLY's 'Bhag D.K. Bose Aandhi Aayi' is a last minute inclusion

Generally songs in Bollywood films are written, composed, and recorded even before the shooting of the film begins. This is apparently not the case with one of the ten songs in Aamir Khan Production's DELHI BELLY.According to our sources, Bhag D.K. Bose Aandhi Aayi, the song that has become a raging hit, was included in the film at the last moment and was composed just a few weeks ago, much after the principal shooting of the film was over. The film was edited and ready; the test previews for a select audience were done; the teaser trailer was on air and showing in theatres; and the film's marketing campaign had begun to roll. All this had taken place much before the idea to have the song was mooted and Ram Sampat, the film's music director, was called in to do the needful. It was a spur of the moment decision. The song did not take long to compose and was truly an inspired effort by Amitabh Bhattacharya, the lyrics writer, Akshat Verma, the film's writer who provided the 'hook' line of the song, and Ram Sampat, the composer, who also sang it himself. It has worked wonders for the film in terms of generating a strong buzz and pre-release publicity, and a wee bit of controversy about its 'hook' line.
